It sometimes takes a village:

This was the case with Bennie.

A lady in Bolton, MA saw an ad on the internet from Maine of a horse for sale for $1000. The horse was very thin, totally exhausted, depressed and just defeated looking. She knew it would not go well for him if she didn't get him help before something bad happened.

She called a volunteer at Dream Big and asked if she had any idea what they could do? The volunteer called a friend in Maine that was fairly close to Bennies location. Sent her the $1000 and asked her to go buy the horse.  

Her friend went and bought the horse and had another friend of hers trailer him to our volunteer in MA. 

Bennie arrived the next day in MA. Very thin, dehydrated, lame, filthy but actually in good spirits! 

He stayed in MA for a month, received a vet check, teeth float, farrier attention, worming, shots and FOOD!  He recovered quickly and was ready for his trip to Virginia. 

Dream Big scheduled transport for Bennie and his journey began. 

We are happy to report that Bennie is a happy, sassy and quirky gelding living the rest of his life at Dream Big and it took a village to get him here!  

So, with that, please be advised that it’s finally official: Bennie’s forever home, Dream Big at Moseley Manor, is a certified 501(c)(3) organization. A real nonprofit, a sanctuary dedicated to being a safe haven for animals once unwanted, abandoned, discarded, abused, injured, or forgotten.
